Dreams are truly
the window to your soul. But so often, we give only a moment's
thought to our dream before we head out for the day.
Tomorrow,
allow yourself the time to stop and remember. Think about what
you dreamt and interpret it with our help. What you learn
about yourself through your dreams just may surprise you!
Letter D Dreams
Dancing
- Dancing by yourself is a sign of freedom and joy. If you
are dancing with someone, it represents intimacy or a relationship.
Working with someone together.
Death of a Child
- Although a parent's dream of
a child's death is overwhelming, in actuality it is not a sign of something
terrible to come. Rather, it is an indication that our child is reaching
or is just past a stage in his or her life, and our minds are mourning or saying
goodbye to the young child of the past. Did your child
just give up a bottle, begin to talk or is about to enter high school?
Any of these might bring a dream of this kind, allowing your mind to say goodbye
to the past and welcome the future.
Desert
- A desert means aloneness or sadness. It can represent barrenness.
Do you feel you are alone in the world? Do you need support and are not
receiving it? Is your life lacking in enjoyment or satisfaction?
Devil
- Do you remember learning of the
"id" during your school days? The devil may represent something deep
inside you that you are repressing. We cannot give in to "improper" urges
or feelings,
yet the mind may temporarily bring these to the surface while dreaming.
Diary
- Do you have secrets you are
keeping about yourself? These may be private things that you happily keep
to yourself. Or is there something you feel you should tell someone, but
have not had the courage to do so? Dreaming of a diary can also represent
safety or sanctuary. Look at how your diary was represented. Did you
feel comforted with it or were you hiding it from someone.
Digging
- Have you recently discovered something? Or are you trying to find the
truth, as shown by digging up something? Are you seeking new employment, a
new hobby or in need of a change in your daily routine? You may be near a
decision.

Dinosaur
- If the dinosaur is chasing you, there may be a problem you are trying to
resolve or run away from. Is there an issue in your life you have not
dealt with yet? Dinosaurs are from the past. If there is no fear in
seeing this dinosaur, look to your roots or in your family's history for the
meaning. What was the dinosaur near or doing?
Dog -
If the dog is aggressive, was it
chasing you? Did it bite you? What is overwhelming you or hurting
you? If the dog is happy, it can represent childhood, playfulness and
happiness. Dogs can also show companionship, stability and contentedness.
Doughnut
- A typical donut has a hole in the
middle. Are you missing something in your life? Is there an empty
space inside of you? Alternately, a donut is round. Have you
recently gone full circle? Or if we blend the two, you may be going in
circles and coming up empty.
Dragon
- Common storybooks depict a brave knight slaying the dragon. Did you slay
your dragon? You are facing a fear and removing it from your life.
There may be something deep and dangerous in your subconscious that you are
facing and defeating. If you are injured during this battle, there may be
someone in your life that is dominating you that you need to face. Dragons
have an overwhelming strength that tower over us, as do situations, friends or
family in our lives.
Drums
- Drums give rhythm and cadence. A drum can set the pace and show your
life is on a steady course. The sound of a drum can represent a heartbeat.
If you are confidently playing the drums, you may be taking charge of something.
Drunkenness
- If you are drunk and disoriented, your life is off course. What was near
you in the dream? Do you feel this person or thing controls you?
